Phillipa's Chilli Chocolate Cheese Cake.

Chocolate is good for you - it makes you smile.

Coffee, Chocolate and Chilli Cheese Cake.

100g Butter.
300g Chocolate digestives (1 and 1/2 packets)
200g Broken milk chocolate - I used 70% cocoa dark chocolate so I guess it does not matter.
200g Soft cheese.
200g Creme fraiche.
100g Caster sugar.
2 tbsp Coffee essence.
1 x 142ml Carton double cream - I used single as that's what I had.
1 -2 chopped deseeded red chillies. (@4.0cm in length)
Extra chocolate and chillies to decorate.

Melt butter in a pan.
Whizz the biscuits into fine crumbs in a processor, then toss in the butter. Whizz and then press over the base and sides of a 20cm loose-bottomed tin.
Melt chocolate while whizzing all the remaining ingredients in the processor. Pour in the chocolate and whizz again until blended.
Scrape into the biscuit base, then chill for about four hours until set. Decorate with grated or chopped chocolate and chillies.

* I initially thought I had put too much chilli in when I tasted the hot mixture before setting. But on cooling the chilli calmed down and became a nice after taste. Also Nirmala explained that over time the chilli will have mellowed and blended into the other ingredients so the older the desert the milder the chilli will become. Can be made the day before.
Anyway, it is so easy to make and looks like you've spent ages in the kitchen.
