Last day in Wellington

The day before I leave and Wellington is at it's best with beautiful weather, it's been a long time coming.
I sailed the Rum Race on Friday and Dave let me/made me helm and I loved it - could not contain my excitement, just had to let it out. We practiced flying the kite and it was great as the boat is a joy to sail. - And then there was Saturday with the most amazing weather and sailing conditions that suited Airship and everything just "flowed" on the boat and we had a great sail, it was magic. I had a bit too much fun after racing as we celebrated with some rum.

I'm sorting out last minute things that I have had six months to do and then it's off down to the Yacht Club - "now there's a surprise" to enjoy the farewell BBQ.
I took my last walk into town complete with music as I love the i-pod, just got to remember not to sing or skip!

Last year was so fabulous with the amazing successes with art and fun with sailing and the realisation that change can sometimes be a good thing, but at the same time it was hard work. I was overwhelmed and still am at the support of friends I have found and the ones I had all along, that helped me through it with their love and support which has also given me the courage to take hold of this opportunity that is Antarctica.
