last Saturday we warmed up a vehicle and drove to Arrival Heights which is the highest point behind McMurdo where our weather station is positioned. The weather for that day was good and was the last opportunity for us to see the sun, which was setting at 2.30pm.

We drove through Mac Town and Observation Hill was bathed in light from the sunset.

The sun dipping below the ice shelf...the last time I'll see it for a while.

Condition 1 - this is an indication of the poor visibility we experience caused by the wind.
